SUMMARY:"Batty About Bats" Educational Program
DESCRIPTION:The Alabama Bat Working Group is hosting a "Bat Blitz" in Historic Blakeley State Park in May featuring groups of researchers\, scientists and educators who will spend several nights surveying the local bat population. The important data collected will help scientists better understand the health of our local bat community so that they can develop the best management guidelines. This presentation is a part of that effort. It will feature a powerpoint presentation\, mounted bats\, life-size cutouts\, and the opportunity to view several species of native bats! Join the ABWG to learn more about bats and their importance to our ecosystem. Arrive early\, beginning at 5:00 PM\, in advance of the formal presentation for an opportunity to receive temporary bat tattoos and bat rings! Kids can wear a bat costume and masks and pose for photos.
