Description
Uncover the sound of 60s’ folk with an Echo In the Canyon Documentary on July 26th at OWA Theater. This historical film revisits the influence and music of Southern California's folk-rock pioneers from the mid-60s Laurel Canyon scene, highlighting their impact on the era and their transatlantic influence on The Beatles. Through performances by Jakob Dylan and contemporary artists like Beck, Fiona Apple, Norah Jones, Regina Spektor, and Cat Power, the film pays homage to the seminal songs of that time. Dylan explores the personal stories behind these classics and the creative spirit of Los Angeles before psychedelia and the singer/songwriter era took hold. Don’t miss this chance to explore the stories behind the sound that shaped American folk music. Doors open at noon, so come early and enjoy drinks and refreshments before the show kicks off at 1pm.
