Description
The Mobile Symphony will offer a FREE string quartet performance Friday, August 18, 7:00 p.m. in the Willson Rehearsal Hall of the Larkins Music Center, 257 Dauphin Street in downtown Mobile. Members of the Mobile Symphony Orchestra - Jenny Gregoire, violin; Enen Yu, violin; Razvan Berindean, viola; and Guo-Sheng Huang, cello - will perform a program that contrasts modern and classical music. The program opens with Philip Glass' String Quartet No. 2 "Company, " originally composed as theater music, and one of Franz Schubert's most famous and recognizable quartets, String Quartet No. 13, D 804, Op. 29 "Rosamunde." The performance is made possible by the Alabama State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
