Description
Cellist Benett Tsai headlines this riveting musical celebration! A fiery fuse burns throughout this concert of sweeping Romantic and Eastern European melodies. Presented here for the first time, Johann Strauss's exuberant overture to The Gypsy Baron fills the stage with Hungarian flair and operatic melodrama. The emotional heart of the concert beats during Saint-Saëns’s Cello Concerto No. 1, a dramatic tour de force brought to life by the rising star cellist Benett Tsai. The concert culminates in Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 2, a work brimming with youthful energy and brilliant orchestrations of traditional Ukrainian folk tunes.
