36th Annual Jubilee Festival of Arts Artwork Unveiled
The Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce unveiled the artwork for the 36th Annual Jubilee Festival of Arts at their July Business After Hours event hosted by the United States Sports Academy in Daphne. The 2024 featured artist is Emily Taylor. This year’s artwork features a set of piers in purples, greens and blues to portray a classic, coastal bay scene.
Emily Taylor is a coastal artist who loads her colorful brushes with happy memories of life growing up on Mobile Bay. Her joy on canvas springs from those magical bay summers filled with sunshine, open arms, family wharf gatherings, trawling for shrimp, the drone of porch fans, and peace.
“My grandparents there had a summer home ‘over-the-bay,’ on the Eastern Shore in Point Clear. We spent magical summers there, from the last day of school, straight through to Labor Day, all together in the house with the grands, aunts, uncles and cousins. So many people, plus friends, meant tons of water skiing, a bit of mischief, sailing, ice cream, and crab-picking at a really big dinner table.”
After retiring from thirty years of teaching foreign languages on the coast of Georgia, Emily has returned to her roots on the Gulf Coast and currently resides in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
Chairmen of the 36th Annual Jubilee Festival of Arts, Garrett Hughes and Dannielle Gaston, chose this piece to represent the Eastern Shore’s coastal scenes they grew up loving.
Signed prints can be purchased at the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce office in downtown Fairhope beginning in August.
Emily’s art can be found at Hello Gallery in Fairhope, Alabama. She also participates in juried art festivals and markets throughout the Southeast. Follow her on Facebook and Instagram for show updates and new works. @emilytaylorfendigart
