BALDWIN COUNTY, AL, May 28, 2021 – The Baldwin County Commission recently launched the Baldwin County Environmental Advisory Committee. The Committee is an environmental task force created to provide policy advice on environmental matters to the Commission. The Baldwin County Commission created an Environmental Advisory Board during its May 18, 1993 regular meeting which ceased functioning in 2013.
Commission Chair Joe Davis said, “Launching the Environmental Advisory Committee is a fundamental step to help protect the quality of life in this place we call “Paradise.” One of top priorities in our five-year strategic plan is “Protecting the Natural Environment.” This is one of the steps we have taken to be sure that the needle keeps moving in the right direction.”
The Commission also hired a Natural Resource Planner who will work with departments throughout the Baldwin County, as well as municipalities and environmental agencies and organizations.
This new Committee will hold the first meeting at the Central Annex in Robertsdale on Friday, June 4, 2021 from 1:00PM- 2:30PM.
