Daphne Animal Shelter Joins NBCU Local’s Annual “Clear the Shelters Pet Adoption & Donation Campaign Set for August 2, 2025

Nationwide Initiative Has Led to Nearly 1.2 Million Adoptions & Raised More Than $5 Million Since 2015

DAPHNE, Ala.The all-new Daphne Animal Shelter has joined NBCUniversal Local’s 11th annual Clear The Shelters pet adoption and donation campaign scheduled for Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 10 AM to 4 PM.

The national campaign is set to run August 1-31, which features an extended fundraising initiative taking place now through September 15.

As part of the nationwide initiative, NBC and Telemundo stations partner with animal shelters and rescues in their communities to promote pet adoption and raise funds that support animal welfare. Since its 2015 inception, Clear The Shelters has helped nearly 1.2 million pets find new homes and has raised more than $5 million for participating shelters and rescues.

“The City of Daphne is thrilled to partner with the Clear The Shelters campaign,“ says Daphne Mayor Robin LeJeune. “Our new, state-of-the-art facility was built for awareness and events like this, benefitting the animals and pet owners throughout The Jubilee City.”

Clear The Shelters fundraising will once again be led by Greater Good Charities, a global nonprofit and longtime campaign partner. Donations to the general fund can be made now through September 15, and campaign donations to the Daphne Animal Shelter can be made August 1 - 31 at ClearTheSheltersFund.org.

Virtual pet adoptions return for the seventh consecutive year through WeRescue, which allows website and app users to browse adoptable pets in their area by breed, gender, size and other factors, submit applications, and ask questions directly to shelters. Hill’s Pet Nutrition, a global leader in science-based pet nutrition, is returning as the campaign’s national sponsor for the eighth consecutive campaign.

The Daphne Tractor Supply Company, located at 851 US Highway 98, has agreed to be a partner to the Daphne Animal Shelter for this event. They will be offering 15% off pet items to customers for their newly adopted pet (proof of adoption from the DAS will be required).
