IMPACT 100 BALDWIN COUNTY ANNOUNCES GRANT FINALISTS Grants Will Be Awarded to Area Nonprofits October 26th Impact 100 Baldwin County has narrowed the field to ten finalists in its 15th year of life changing grant-giving. The organizations and projects by category are: Arts, Culture and Recreation: Friends of the Fairhope Public Library - “Building for the Future” Lillian Recreational Park, Inc. - “Parks and Recreation - The Heart of the Community” Education: Baldwin Pops, Inc. - “The Basics of Building Music, 1,2,3…” Boys and Girls Ranches of Alabama, Inc. - “Vocational Program for Ranchers” Environment & Preservation: Back Country Trail Foundation, Inc. - “The Orchard, a Native Plant Demonstration Project” Stapleton Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. - “Protecting and Preparing for Growth” Family: Ecumenical Ministries - “Emmy’s Thrift Store Expansion” Youth-Reach Gulf Coast Inc. - “Build a Multi-use Cabin” Health & Wellness: Eastern Shore Recovery Foundation, Inc. - “Common Ground” Ruff Wilson Youth Organization, Inc. - “Fortifying for the Future The finalists were selected from applications reviewed by Impact 100 Baldwin County’s focus groups in each category. Impact 100’s annual grant awards gala, “Evening of Impact,” is scheduled for Wednesday, October 26th at the Daphne Civic Center. The finalists from each focus area will present their unique projects to Impact members at the meeting. The members will vote, and the grant recipients to receive $109,000 each will be announced that night. The event also kicks off the 2023 membership drive. “This year’s gala will be especially meaningful as we celebrate 15 years,” said Impact 100 Baldwin County President Lucy Smith. “Our group started small, with a dream, a vision and 82 members. Today, we are almost 500 members strong and will have awarded $5 million in transformative grants by the end of the gala. Impact 100 is a force for good in Baldwin County, and we look forward to growing even more in the years to come.” Impact 100 Baldwin County is a community of women seeking to transform the quality of life in Baldwin County by awarding high-impact grants to nonprofits working in the county.
