As a member of the founding entity council for Coastal Alabama Partnership, the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce a new ecotourism project that is now underway.
Thanks to funds from a RESTORE Grant, Coastal Alabama Partnership has hired Beyond Green Travel (led by international expert Costas Christ) to assess our region’s ecotourism product. The project will identify and develop an online resource directory with a list of ecotourism destinations in the two county Gulf Coast region.
During the week of July 17th, sustainable tourism expert Costas Christ and his team with Beyond Green Travel, spent time touring our region and visiting with local officials, tourism experts and environmental leaders.
Throughout the week, Costas and his team visited south Mobile county, north Baldwin county, toured the Delta and visited the Eastern Shore’s Meaher State Park and Blakeley State Park. Click here to learn about all the places and people the team visited.
The team will continue to explore our region over the next few months as they assess our region ecotourism product and develop an online resource directory with a list of ecotourism destinations in the two county Gulf Coast region. Stay tuned!
