Eastern Shore Art Association Receives Grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts
Funding will support programs “Connecting with Wild Clay” and “Creative Cargo”
Fairhope, Ala. – Eastern Shore Art Association dba Eastern Shore Art Center has received a $12,200 grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts to fund “Creative Cargo” and “Connecting with Wild Clay”.
With these funds, the Eastern Shore Art Association will outfit the Summer Art Bash program with art supplies and will work with instructor Zach Sierke to teach the community about the wild clay found on the Eastern Shore.
This grant signifies that through this project, the Eastern Shore Art Association is making Alabama’s communities stronger and our state’s arts and culture sector more vibrant.
“ASCA continues to ensure that ESAC is able to have dynamic art based programs that are accessible and affordable for everyone in the community.” Says Reanna Watson, Academy Director.
Summer Art Bash is held in June and July, for six weeks. Students attend camp from 10 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday. We offer camps for ages 5 to 15. Camp offerings include Summertime Pottery, Watercolors, Mixed Media Mania, Digital Photography, and more. Registration opens in March. “Connecting with Wild Clay” classes and expeditions will be held in Spring 2023. Lectures will follow throughout the summer.
This grant, awarded by the Alabama State Council on the Arts, enables the Eastern Shore Art Association to reach new audiences, foster community development, provide the highest quality programming, and demonstrate the importance of arts as a key component for quality of life in Alabama.
