Emilie founded the Nonprofit Help Center in 2018, after working in the nonprofit sector for over 20 years. She holds a masters in nonprofit management and a doctoral degree in organizational and leadership psychology, and her doctoral dissertation focused on psychological factors related to donor behavior. In 2021, her company launched the Merit® Nonprofit Professional Development platform, an online capacity-building system that is designed just for nonprofit teams, which now supports over 400 nonprofits (and the thousands of people who work at them) nationwide.
She has published two books on personal mission statement development, and works to use her words to improve the world. Emilie is an avid traveler, reader, and believer in the power of people to make great things happen.
