The Eastern Shore Art Center receives grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts

The Eastern Shore Art Center receives grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts Funding will support ESAC programming and exhibits

Fairhope Ala. – The Eastern Shore Art Center has received a $20,500 grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts to fund the operational expenses needed to maintain all things ESAC!

With these funds, the Eastern Shore Art Center will continue to offer a wide array visual and ceramic based education, outreach programming unique to the Eastern Shore, and free admission to five galleries. This grant signifies that through this project, the Eastern Shore Art Center is making Alabama’s communities stronger and the state’s arts and culture sector more vibrant.

"With this operational grant, ESAC is ready to broaden our audience and explore new, artistic opportunities," says Reanna Watson, Academy Director. "As the staff plans for 2024 and beyond, we are cultivating brand new elements to ESAC, including virtual galleries and artist retreats. Grants like these allow organizations like ours to invest our resources into developing programming that makes the arts accessible to ALL!”

In the meantime, ESAC is thrilled to host the 5th Annual Plein Air Fairhope paint out and exhibit. Artists will "take it to the streets" to paint Fairhope's picturesque shopping district, bayside attractions, and homes. Keep an eye out for artists and their easels during the week of Oct 30th thru Nov 4th

This grant, awarded by the Alabama State Council on the Arts, is made possible through funding from an annual appropriation from the Alabama State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts. This public support enables the Eastern Shore Art Center to reach new audiences, foster community development, provide the highest quality programming, and demonstrate the importance of arts as a key component for quality of life in Alabama.
