Daphne, AL (December 1, 2023) - Osteoporosis is a big issue for a lot of people, especially women over 50 and post-menopausal women. Nearly half of all women in those groups are likely to have a broken bone or other bone issues due to osteoporosis and 25 percent of men over 50 will likely have the same problems.
The public is invited to learn more by attending a complimentary lunch and learn event in Spanish Fort, AL featuring Holly Scott, CRNP, Baldwin Bone & Joint’s Osteo Health Clinic Coordinator. She will speak on “Understanding Osteoporosis and the Importance of Optimizing Bone Health as You Age.”

Scott has practiced as a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner since 2016 with a primary clinical experience focused on osteo health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Georgia Southern University, an Accelerated Master of Science in Nursing Pathway, and a Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). She is also fully trained in Basic Life Support (CPR/AED) from the American Heart Association and certified in Fracture Liaison Service from the National Osteoporosis Foundation. Scott says her primary goal is to partner with those patients, identified as high risk for osteoporosis and ultimately fractures and falls, to activate a game plan to ensure a strong, active lifestyle for years to come.
