City of Daphne Announces Community Planning Events with Envision Daphne 2042. 

Mayor Robin LeJeune and the Daphne City Council invite the public to participate in Daphne Planning Week and the comprehensive community planning process Envision Daphne 2042. The City of Daphne will host two community engagement meetings on March 21, 2022 – Envision Daphne 2042 Open House and the Daphne Futures Workshop.

Daphne’s Community Development Department is coordinating these events in order to engage citizens in gathering input regarding the city’s future growth and land development patterns. The Envision Daphne 2042 Open House will take place at 3:30 PM at the Daphne Civic Center, located at 2603 US Hwy 98.  The Daphne Futures Workshop will take place immediately following the Daphne City Council meeting that same day, beginning at approximately 7:00 PM at Daphne City Hall, located at 1705 Main Street.  City representatives will be present to guide citizens in the charrette process organized and facilitated by Orion Planning + Design, the planning consultant for the City.

“We look forward to hearing from our citizens and encourage them to participate in planning for the vision of Daphne’s future,” says Troy Strunk, Executive Director of City Development. “Input directly from our citizens is vital in this planning process, as it gives us a more complete understanding of how our community members wish to see their city develop and grow.”

Following the Envision Daphne 2042 Open House and Daphne Futures Workshop on March 21, the City and Orion Planning + Design will also host the Envision Daphne 2042 Concept Plan Presentation on March 24 at Daphne City Hall. This presentation will immediately follow the Planning Commission meeting and begin at approximately 7:00 PM.

The Open House & Workshops are part of Daphne Planning Week. Planning Week builds on the study of Daphne’s community characteristics, initial community engagement and overall project guidance. The results of Planning Week set the stage for an in-depth design of the future. Join in one of the engagement opportunities in person or online.
