Murrell Receives Thomas Hospital’s ZINNIA Award
Sue Murrell, nursing assistant at Colony Rehabilitation Hospital, located on the third floor of Thomas Hospital, was recently awarded the ZINNIA Award for exceptional care by a nursing assistant. Murrell was nominated by a patient and her husband, who were both previous managers for Walmart. The patient noted that she and her husband are always on the lookout for extraordinary qualities in people, and Murrell is no exception. Her commitment to go beyond what is expected and her quick, kind response to whatever is needed was specifically noted by the couple.
The ZINNIA Award is tailored to nursing assistants and is based on the national DAISY Award, which acknowledges registered nurses for their exceptional nursing care. Nominations for both awards are received from patients.
