Wright Named to National IT Board
MOBILE, Alabama (2/28/2023) -- Louis Wright, M.B.A., chief information security officer (CISO) and director of IT Infrastructure at USA Health, was one of several health system executives named to College of Healthcare Information Management Executive (CHIME) boards overseeing health IT, cybersecurity and data analytics.
Wright, who joined USA Health in August 2005, was elected to the board of the Association for Executives in Healthcare Information Security (AEHIS), one of three CHIME organizations.
“Louis being elected to this board position is another area where USA Health is leading. Very few CISOs are being selected to run for election, and even fewer are being elected,” said Steve Travers, Ph.D., M.B.A., chief information officer (CIO) for USA Health. “Our cybersecurity team, with leadership from Louis, has achieved a world-class safety level for the organization in three years. This board position for Louis is truly a career accomplishment.”
David Finn, vice president of AEHIS, AEHIT and AEHIA, said that each member was selected to serve their respective association based on their unique qualifications. “Their expertise will play a pivotal role in helping senior health IT leaders remain vigilant against cybersecurity threats, focus on improving technology for healthcare providers and patients, and continue working together to see that healthcare applications/data and analytics work for us and in service to our patients,” Finn said.
Wright said he was honored and humbled to be elected to the board. “I look forward to helping grow and expand the reach of AEHIS in the healthcare community,” he said. “As a board member of AEHIS, I will continue to increase USA Health’s national brand while developing my career in IT.”
The AEHIS was launched in 2014 as the first professional organization serving healthcare’s senior IT security leaders. AEHIS offers CISOs and other top-ranking information security leaders the professional development and networking opportunities critical for their success. Almost 900 AEHIS members have access to educational resources and support for addressing key industry-specific privacy and security issues.
