Infirmary Health partners with University of Mobile to provide Associate Degree in Nursing scholarships

Mobile, Ala. – Infirmary Health has partnered with the University of Mobile to offer half-tuition scholarships to eligible students who enroll in the university’s new Associate Degree in Nursing Program. Through the support of Infirmary Foundation, Infirmary Health is able to provide scholarships and subsequent employment opportunities to these nursing students.

This partnership is the first of its kind in the region and helps to address the need for nurses along the Gulf Coast. The ADN program is a fast-track career in nursing that can be completed in just five semesters. Students will gain hands-on experience in the University of Mobile’s Center for Excellence in Healthcare Practice, which includes skills labs and patient simulators used to create real-life scenarios.

Students who are awarded Infirmary Health scholarships will join the Infirmary Health team for a minimum of two years after graduation. ADN graduates also have the opportunity to continue their nursing education through the pursuit of a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing, a master’s degree in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice.

“We are excited to partner with the University of Mobile for this unique opportunity,” said Sheila Young, Senior Vice President Human Resources for Infirmary Health. “There continues to be many fulfilling career opportunities in healthcare, and we look forward to growing our team with these students.”

The program is set to begin in August 2022, pending final approval by the Southern Association of College and Schools Commission on Colleges. To apply or learn more, visit umobile.edu/adn or call University of Mobile Enrollment Services at (251) 442-2222.
