Eastern Shore Art Center names Lindsey Lawrence as Community Outreach Director
Lindsey Lawrence has been named Community Outreach Director of the Eastern Shore Art Center. Her most recent experience in the arts has been the Gallery Manager at Lyons Share Custom Frames and Gallery for seven years and volunteering with the Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival for 10 years. Lindsey has a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Painting and Metalsmithing from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. She is currently instructing Summer Art Bash camps at ESAC and will serve as the Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival’s Administrator in 2025.
Planning for 2024/2025 outreach programming has begun and one collaboration is already in the works with USA Health. Last month, Lindsey led a children’s project at USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital. Those that were able to participate made beautiful and fun paper beetles – colorful, whimsical creatures that would brighten up their rooms and their spirits! Not only was each child able to make a beetle to keep, but also extra beetles that could be used to create a collaborative masterpiece to hang proudly in the hospital.
From painting to folding, cutting to gluing, each step was a much-needed moment of control in their lives, as well as mental and physical stimulation. “As we worked side by side, we couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude for the opportunity to share this magical moment with such incredible young souls,” Lindsey recalls. “Their resilience and positivity were truly awe-inspiring, and we are forever changed by our time together.”
The ESAC family welcomes Lindsey to the growing art community and is eager to expand outreach programming in Baldwin and Mobile Counties!
