Southern Cancer Center is delighted to welcome board-certified general surgeon Dr. Eric Roberts to our practice. With an impressive career, Dr. Roberts brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to elevating patient care that aligns perfectly with our mission. Dr. Roberts has served the Baldwin County community since 2019, and held pivotal roles at Baldwin Health including Chief of Staff, Chief of Surgery and Surgery Medical Director. His prior experience in the trauma and general surgery departments at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola further solidifies his expertise and dedication to his field.
“Healthcare is something that I have always been intrigued by since I was a little kid, but I think surgery chose me more than I chose surgery. It was by far the hardest rotation in medical school, but I absolutely loved it. I tried to find other things in medicine that kept my attention and were less time-consuming, but I always kept coming back to surgery,” said Dr. Roberts. “I’m thrilled to join Southern Cancer Center because of the people and the close relationship we have formed. They are a group of not only outstanding physicians, but outstanding people who truly put their patients first.”
Dr. Roberts is no stranger to Southern Cancer Center, having collaborated closely with our physicians in Baldwin County over the past few years. This familiarity ensures a seamless integration into our practice, where he will continue to provide exceptional care and see patients at our locations in Daphne and Foley. Dr. Roberts offers a comprehensive range of procedures, including breast surgery and breast cancer care, hernia surgery, skin surgery and skin cancer care, gallbladder, appendix, thyroid, and colon surgeries.
Originally from Mobile, Dr. Roberts received his undergraduate degree from Auburn University and his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, FL. He then completed his general surgery residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
