Mobile Infirmary's Stroke Program Earns Multiple Recognitions from the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association
Mobile, Ala. – For the eleventh year in a row, Mobile Infirmary has earned the American Heart Association's GoldPlus Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke quality achievement award for ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, ultimately leading to more lives saved and reduced disability. They have also earned Target Stroke Honor Roll Elite and Target Type II Diabetes Honor Roll status, along with the Gold Plus status.
This award reflects the safety, quality, and efficiency provided at Mobile Infirmary and the Infirmary Health Neuroscience Center of Excellence for stroke-related diagnoses. Mobile Infirmary's stroke team is comprised of neurologists, neuro-interventionalists, emergency physicians, nurses, radiologists, and others who ensure patients receive the highest level of stroke care close to home.

Mobile Infirmary also received the American Heart Association's Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite. To qualify for this recognition, Mobile Infirmary met specific criteria that reduce the time between an eligible patient's arrival at the hospital and treatment with the clot-buster alteplase.
In addition, Mobile Infirmary was recognized with The American Heart Association's Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll. Target: Type 2 Diabetes aims to ensure patients with Type 2 diabetes receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care when hospitalized due to stroke.
