Bishop State President Olivier Charles Begins First Full Week in New Role
MOBILE, Ala., August 1, 2022 - A Mobile native who graduated from Murphy High School before pursuing his college experience years ago started his first week on Monday as president of Bishop State Community College. Bishop State President Olivier Charles expressed his excitement about working alongside the faculty, staff, students, and community in the Mobile area.
“Words cannot express how excited I am about our future,'' says President Charles in an email sent to faculty and staff Monday morning. “It is truly the honor of a lifetime to work alongside you.”
The media is invited to attend multiple events for an opportunity to meet and interview President Charles as well as get some video of him interacting with our students.
The new president will attend Wildcat Welcome - one of several new student orientation sessions for first-time freshmen at Bishop State. The next session will be Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 6 p.m. in the Delchamps Student Life Complex Theater on Bishop State’s Main Campus. President Charles will also personally welcome all students back to campus during Wildcat Welcome Week on August 22-26, 2022.
