Bayside Students Named Mobile Optimist Club’s Runners of the Week
Daphne, Ala., September 27, 2021 – Bayside Academy junior Ty Postle and 8th grader Shelby Fargason were selected by the Mobile Optimist Club as 1A–5A Runners of the Week for their performance at the Southern Showcase. Ty and Shelby, along with Coach Joe Swagart, were recognized at the Mobile Optimist Club’s luncheon on Thursday, September 23, 2021.
This is the first time for both Ty and Shelby to be recognized for this award. In the Southern Showcase, Shelby ran a new personal best 5K time of 21:08, finishing 32nd in the Blue division race. Ty also ran a new personal best 5K time of 17:29, which ranks him 8th best in Bayside’s school history.
Bayside Academy is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school for students in grades PK3–12.
