MOBILE, AL, October 21 - The Nutcracker with its stirring Tchaikovsky score is a beloved Christmas tradition. Mobile Ballet’s Nutcracker Savings Card fundraiser is a festive addition to the season, designed to drive its own kind of holiday fanfare with discount-loving shoppers. The program launched to great success in 2024, and is back for a second year.
Retail partners throughout the Mobile Bay area are offering 20% discounts for Nutcracker Savings Card shoppers during the program from November 1–10, 2025. Shoppers can purchase the card now through the Mobile Ballet website for $50, and unlock exclusive discounts during the program dates, just in time for early holiday shopping.
Nutcracker Savings Card holders receive 20% off their purchases at a large network of local retail partners, potentially saving hundreds of dollars on their holiday shopping while directly supporting local businesses and the arts.
“Our goal was a holiday concept both retailers and shoppers would love,” said Mobile Ballet Board Member and Fundraiser Chair, Edie Terreson. “The card supports local business during this crucial early holiday shopping season. Retail studies show nearly half of consumers purchase all or most of their gifts online. We’re encouraging shoppers to shop locally instead in a way that supports our year-round arts enrichment programs, too.”
Proceeds will benefit Mobile Ballet’s outstanding public performances, community outreach programs, and scholarships for young dancers. "This program is a perfect blend of holiday spirit and community support," Terreson added.
The program is a collaborative effort between Mobile Ballet and over 50 local retail partners throughout Mobile County and the Eastern Shore, and Mobile Ballet hopes to continue expanding the program in the coming years.
To purchase a digital Nutcracker Savings Card and view the full list of participating retailers and discount restrictions, visit mobileballet.org. Participating stores will also have QR codes posted for immediate purchase on-site. Shopping dates are November 1-10.
