The Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening of The Threaded Oyster with a ribbon cutting! Their permanent storefront is located at 108 N Section St. in Fairhope, AL. The Threaded Oyster offers permanent and custom jewelry.
Owner Ashley Truelove says, "Being an Oncology Nurse can be mentally challenging. I started permanent jewelry as an outlet a year ago and it grew into a full time job!"
"Most people think permanent jewelry is done by soldering but in fact, the jump ring is welded by a very small tig welder made specifically for this."
"A lot of people don’t understand that my jewelry will never tarnish. 14k gold filled material is not commonly found in stores so it is new to a lot of people. Our gold chains, earrings, rings, and cuffs have 5% of their weight in 14k gold which is bonded to a brass core giving this jewelry a 5-10 year life span."
